Friendly Work Environment

CUMI believes in the right of all its employees to work with dignity, in a safe and secure environment. To this end, CUMI provides all employees with a safe work environment, free from sexual harassment. All persons working with the Group are expected to treat their co-workers with respect, dignity and in a professional manner. The Murugappa Group has framed and adopted a policy on sexual harassment in accordance with the Vishaka Guidelines laid down by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. Pursuant to the enactment of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, the existing policy has been amended by this policy, incorporating the requirements as mandated by this new legislation.

Diverse Work Culture

CUMI promotes diversity and equal opportunity especially for women employees. Employees get an additional percentage on referral bonus if a referred woman employee is hired for any position. Our revised policy on Maternity has leave set at 180 days with an extension if necessary and Paternity leave has been sanctioned for 5 days (twice in one’s career / tenure at CUMI). Returnity helps in providing flexi hour work timings for support up to 1 year (and is available twice in one’s career / tenure at CUMI).


CUMI provides its employees, customers and vendors an avenue to raise concerns which may go against the company’s commitment to the highest possible standards of ethical, moral and legal business conduct and its commitment to open communication. We provide necessary safeguards for the protection of employees from reprisals or victimization in good faith. An ombudsman at Group level is available to help investigate the case, where there is sufficient grounds for action against the concerned party involved.
